Inspired by black-glazed carved ceramics of the Xixia period, this sculptural vessel pairs a generous, rounded silhouette with hand-carved scrolling peonies.

Each jar is individually wheel-thrown, trimmed, glazed, and carved by hand. The dark mineral-rich surface shifts subtly with the firing, while the carved decoration reveals the clay beneath—creating depth through material and restraint rather than added ornament.
