Beauty
of the East
IANYAN’s Beauty of the East series explores the quiet power of jade through a contemporary jewelry language.
Founded by jewelry designer Ian Yan, IANYAN works with materials that carry memory, texture, and natural imperfection. In his practice, a mark is not a flaw, and a crack is not an ending. It is part of the material’s life.
Through Hetian jade, 18K gold, and diamonds, this series creates a dialogue between Eastern restraint and modern sculptural design.
Within sight, beyond imagery.
In Eastern aesthetics, beauty is often found in restraint. It does not speak loudly. It lingers in silence, in texture, and in the space between what is seen and what is imagined.
The Beauty of the East series transforms jade into a poetic object — something to be worn, contemplated, remembered, and carried over time.
X-iān Ring
Entering the mountain, finding stillness
The X-iān Ring takes its inspiration from the poetic image of entering the mountain and becoming immortal.
Here, immortality is not myth or supernatural power. It suggests a state of quiet freedom: to step away from noise, to return to nature, and to find clarity within the rawness of stone.
Crafted from Hetian black-green Gobi jade, 18K gold, and diamonds, the ring carries the presence of mountain and earth. With stone as its body and expression as its soul, it becomes a jewel of serene transcendence.
Inlay Series Ring
A dialogue between jade and light
The Inlay Series Ring begins with a quiet encounter: the gentle restraint of Hetian white jade meeting the brilliance of diamonds.
Jade and diamond speak in different ways. Jade is soft, internal, and contemplative. Diamond is radiant, sharp, and filled with light.
Through IANYAN’s stone-on-stone inlay technique, diamonds are set into jade, allowing two materials to share one surface and one breath.
This is not simply contrast. It is balance — a connection between past and present, East and West, softness and radiance.
Quan Ring
Returning to the source
The Quan Ring is inspired by the image of a spring — clear water returning to its source.
A spring does not need to announce itself. It reveals its truth through clarity, movement, and quiet continuity.
In this piece, the warmth of Hetian white jade meets the flowing light of diamonds. The jade carries a soft inner glow, while the diamonds move like ripples across its surface.
Structure and precision meet poetic restraint, allowing the ring to hold a sense of origin, purity, and inner clarity.
A Contemporary Eastern Expression
The Beauty of the East series is rooted in Chinese cultural imagination, yet it is not confined by tradition.
Mountains are not only landscapes, but states of mind. Water is not only form, but origin. Jade is not only precious, but spiritual.
Gold gives structure. Diamonds bring light. Jade carries memory. Together, they form a collection that is quiet, sculptural, and deeply personal.
For IANYAN, Eastern beauty is not decorative excess. It is restraint, depth, and the ability to suggest more than what is shown.
